Ghetto Gutter Entertainment has signed Lilongwe based rapper, Abatiya real name Lanno Chiipira.
The signing follows Abatiya’s “Dear Jah Jah” cover which impressed Fredokiss who also owns Ghetto Gutter Entertainment label.
Posting “Dear Jah Jah” cover on his Facebook page, Fredokiss wrote, “Watch out for this artist ‘Abatiya’. I love how he has done the Dear Jah Jah Cover, Ghetto has maad talent”.
Fredokiss then announced signing Abatiya on Friday, 29 July, 2022.
Commenting on “Dear Jah Jah” cover, Abatiya explains, “I’ts all about respecting the art. Apart from being one of my favorite songs done by Fredokiss, I saw an opportunity that I can redo a verse and talk about street kids and ghetto youths who are stuggling. That’s my everyday prayer in that verse.”
He adds, “Though I started long time ago, I still have much to offer and with support from ghetto Ghutter entertainment, people should expect more from me.”
Abatiya came into the limelight with hit singles such as “Pizza si Sigege”, “Mano
Akhanda” and “Zapansi Pompano”.
Abatiya released his debut mixtape titled “Pizza si Zigege” in 2018.
