PAM-CRC ROLLES OUT POETRY TO SENSITISE PEOPLE ON COVID-19

The leadership of Poetry Association of Malawi Central Region Chapter (PAM-CRC) has rolled out poetry to sensitise Malawian citizens about COVID-19, a pandemic that has so far claimed many lives of Malawians
Speaking during an exclusive interview with MRB Reporter, Deputy Chairperson of PAM CRC Zabuloni Daniel Dama has reiterated that it is there wish to see poets in the country composing more poems aiming at sensiting masses about COVID-19 and giving hope to those infected
“PAM is encouraging poets to inform people how to prevent this pandemic by writing more poems, giving people ways they can use, if they are suffering from it giving them hope and encourage them to follow the instructions given by the doctors.They should write in English and Chichewa as well, so that everyone should be aware” he said
PAM is therefore advising the public to be vigilant with precautionary measures from health experts as the responsibility is for everyone since prevention is better than cure
” Advice is that the parcel of life is not kept by a relative and prevention is better than cure.Therefore it’s everyone’s responsibility to prevent from this disease by following the precautions given by health experts, like staying at home,1 metre distance from your neighbour, wearing masks etc” he added
Dama who is also the gospel poet has further called on people to turn to God for his healing and forgiveness and continue following survival means
“Lastly we need to bow down and ask God to forgive and heal us through prayer.We should also continue working hard for survival while being attentive to listen to the radio and television to know what is happening in the world” Dama said
PAM has further pledged to bring more through poetry but they still need support from the public to give them more
So far more poems in regard to COVID-19 have been released and these include a poem titled “Kuyankhula kwa Yehova” by Zabuloni Daniel Dama and ” Chibwana Chimalanda ” by Enock Thomas
