Gwamba × Martse Bwanji Video Rating by Uncle Lobo
Bars: Gwamba went hard on this one. His clever word play took us back to his days in Pittie boys. Despite the good punchlines he sticked to the script and never rapped off concept.. Bar for bar be did very well. Martse brought an emotional side to the song by opening up about the time he suffered from celebral malaria. Very touching story. However, he still spiced it up ngati Rajah with his timbuka bars.
Beat Selection: It was an odd one for me… Drill is a relatively new genre in Malawi and very unusual for Gwamba to jump on to such. Even for Martse before Mkatimo he didn’t really Vibe with drill. Nevertheless, they have murdered the beat just like they’ve done in the past to trap, passada and rumba beats.
Visuals: Essim did a very good job… High quality visuals backed up by a beautiful countryside scenery.
Video Concept: The concept was simple yet very creative. The use of pills to show different themes is out of this world. The acting that depicted Martse when he was down with celebral malaria was top notch and cemented the overall message
